State By State Guide To State And National Park Campgrounds

Find your campsite here before you go on your next camping trip. Our Guide To State And National Park Campgrounds is convenient to use and also contains a few private campgrounds.

If this is your first RV camping trip, check out these posts. You will find lots of things you'll need to know before you hit the road.

We hope you will use our guide as reference for where to stop as you venture on your next road trip.  We like to stay at campgrounds just off the highway we are traveling on or near sights we would like to see. We always look for state campgrounds first before private. We have found so many that we would love to go back to one day.  Then there are a few that we will want to avoid.

As a feature of this guide the campgrounds by using a 1(low) - 5 (high) rating.  We take into consideration the cleanliness of the park, especially the bathrooms (which all have handicap facilities except where noted), the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, the facilities, amenities and the size of the campsites.

In addition, we will have pictures of our campsites and surroundings to give you an idea of what to expect if you go.  We hope it will be a useful guide for you as you make your plans for your next RV road trip.

  6. I've bookmarked this for later to see what you add. When in Washington State, go camp at Cape Disappointment State Park on the coast. It's great and will not disappoint! (There's a history lesson in the name of the park.) The beach is right there and the little ocean towns are fun to window shop. Since it is Western Washington, visit during July to early September for warmer weather. If you like the rain like me (it's my liquid sunshine), visit anytime! ~Adrienne from Gluten Free Preppers and a member of the Blogger's Pit Stop Crew P.S. The Pacific Ocean on Washington's coast is ALWAYS freezing!

  7. Hi - we're Canadian. Do you have any You Tube videos of the RV places you've been to? Which is the best and nicest one to stay at? Thanks. Caroline.

    1. Thank you for asking but we are not technically talented enough to make videos. That is such a good idea and would give our readers a better view of the campgrounds we visit!
To answer your second question: You usually can't go wrong with camping at state and national parks. They are affordable and offer so much in different ways to enjoy nature either by foot or kayak, etc. I really loved Lake Catherine State Park in Arkansas because of the many small but gorgeous waterfalls we saw on the hike we took there.
